Maassilo

Maassilo is an industrial events venue at Maashaven Zuidzijde 1-2, AE, Rotterdam, hosting club nights and corporate functions. Its original section was built in 1911 for grain storage, with 128 silos and capacity for 20,000 tonnes. Additions came in 1930 and 1951, with the later expansion shaping the exterior seen today. Grain storage stopped in July 2003, and the building was redeveloped for nightlife and events. It began operating in that role in 2004.

From 2004 through 2007, the upper-floor club space operated as Now&Wow, founded by Ted Langenbach and Pietra Ligura. Located 40 metres above ground in the newer section, the room is reached from the quay entrance along a historic route. The complex contains ten industrial rooms, and its overall capacity is about 5,000. The Basement accommodates up to 350 people, while Platform One can hold up to 1,800.

Platform One is equipped with L-Acoustics K2 arrays, KS28 subwoofers and KARA II front-fill and delay systems; Platform Three uses an L-Acoustics K3 system. Now&Wow’s programme includes gabber and other harder electronic music, while concerts range from singer-songwriter performances to hardcore. Liquicity and Korsakov have held events at the venue, where Culture Shock, Koven and Maduk have performed. In March 2026, Rotterdam’s municipality agreed to sell Maassilo to its operator, Maassilo/Now&Wow.
