Mary's Underground was a live-music venue at 29 Reiby Pl in Circular Quay, Sydney. It opened in May 2019 on the site of The Basement, a Sydney music club and restaurant. The venue was established by Mary’s co-founders Jake Smyth and Kenny Graham, and began with a burger restaurant upstairs and live jazz below. In 2020, its programme shifted towards music, spanning jazz, soul and rock.
The downstairs room had a low ceiling, a stage raised about a foot above the floor and no barrier between performers and the dancefloor; an in-house PA served the venue. Events included those run by Sounds Like Aus, alongside a broad programme of live acts. Artists who played there included Simula, Fashionably Late, Hotel 84 and Miss Sunshine. In May 2026, the owners announced the venue would close, citing financial pressure, falling bar sales and rising operating costs. Mary's Underground closed in June 2026.
