Mauerpfeiffer

Mauerpfeiffer stands at Lebacher Straße 1-7a in Saarbrücken, Saarland, Germany, with room for about 400 people. Its history traces back to do-it-yourself parties at the UBAR, which first admitted invited guests in October 2009 and later opened as a public club. The UBAR and Mauerpfeiffer are connected venues within the same building complex.

In 2015, the operators took over former table-dance-bar rooms and turned them into Mauerpfeiffer. The club started in a 40-square-metre space beside an 18-square-metre cellar, with its operators carrying out later building work. They also expanded into other rooms and created an outdoor area. The venue has several floors and spaces, including a garden, and can use as many as five floors.

Music programming spans techno and related styles, house, trance, experimental music and drum and bass. Bookings bring regional and international artists to the club, while resident DJs include Sven Sossong, Tim Grothe, Denis Keiner and Sarah de la Rosa. The Adapter series, co-organised by resident ROD_A and Morgenstern, supported local DJ talent. Klinkenberg and Miss Nat-H-Lee are among the artists who have played there. A 2019 anniversary event took place across five floors. Tim Grothe is the club’s owner.
