Motorista Studio is an event and production venue on Commercial Road in East York, Toronto. It occupies a 1930s commercial building that previously housed administrative offices for Leaside Aerodrome, which began operating in 1917 as Toronto’s first commercial airport. Founder Allan Rocco reused items in the renovation as a reference to the site’s aviation history. The venue opened in 2024 and has hosted live music, themed events and parties. The building is in the Modernist style.
The studio has a capacity of about 500, with a performance area that can accommodate stage setups and amplified music. Its equipment includes four 15-inch Yorkville speakers, three subwoofers, two 12-inch speakers and a pair of HK Audio Polar 8 speakers. Events have covered techno, electronica, tech house and dancehall. ROTE8 has staged techno events there featuring Luigi Madonna and Bailey Ibbs, while WiGGLY Events has also run events at the venue.
