MS Connexion Complex

Founded by Zojin Samardzic as a music and sports leisure centre in August 1982, MS Connexion Complex began operating in 1984 after delays over Mannheim permits. The venue stands on a factory site more than 150 years old, at Angelstrasse 33 in Mannheim. A redevelopment preceded its March 2003 reopening under new management.

Its five floors are arranged over two levels, with spaces such as Kolbenhalle, Klub, Maschinenhalle and Stahlwerk. The venue has a NORTON sound system in each room, a basement BDSM club and an outdoor bar area. Its stated capacity is about 2,000. The Erdgeschoss space, comprising Kolbenhalle and Klub, covers 850 square metres and accommodates up to 432 people.

Dance programming includes techno, house, drum and bass and hardcore, as well as gothic events and Gaywerk parties. Jungle and drum-and-bass events have been held in Mannheim and at the venue since the early 1990s. Concerts focused on metal, punk and rock form another part of its programme, with about 45 presented annually. Event promoters have included MSCC Events and DEXIT Techno. Founded in 2003, resident clubnight Stereo621 has hosted house artists Carl Craig, Gerd Janson and Dixon; performers at the complex have included Sonair and Trinity. In 2024, its 40th-anniversary programme used four rooms and the outdoor area.
