Neptune Room

Neptune Room is a bar on Georgia Avenue NW in Brightwood Park, Washington, DC. It opened on 28 February 2020 in a former barbershop, as a sister venue to Showtime Lounge. Co-owners Paul Vivari and Art Soodsamai developed the bar with the Showtime team; Vivari selected Brightwood Park for the venue. Its interior has a space-age theme, with a mural by musician and artist Benjy Ferree and a diving scene above the booths by Ex Hex drummer Laura Harris.

The room holds about 150 people. Soodsamai fitted a sound system designed for vinyl, and DJs played on Fridays and Saturdays, with Vivari taking a set roughly monthly. A free jukebox ranged across cumbia, Afrobeat, Thai funk and go-go, alongside other local music. Artists who have played at Neptune Room include DJ Con, Nocturnal Wax, Dee Clark and DJ Land Reform.
