Nest

Nest is an underground nightclub in the basement of the Kuppel annex at Nachtigallenwäldeli 9, Basel. The new Kuppel venue reopened in October 2024 after an eight-year hiatus, and Nest began operating in January 2025 in a newly built space on the site of the former Annex. Its capacity is about 180 people. The sound system uses KV2 Audio SL-series speakers, with two SL2.15s and an SL412 in each stack, powered by KV2 amplifiers.

Nest’s programme ranges across disco, house, techno and bass music, alongside Afrobeats, Baile and hip-hop. The club works with local crews and promoters, with programming that includes regional, national and international DJs and an emphasis on young local artists. Its opening weekend on January 10–11, 2025, began with Afrobeats and disco before moving to Baile, breakbeat and bass music. Artists who have played there include Zecher, Roklem, Sebalo, Geostatic and switch/case.
