Neubad is a temporary-use cultural venue and club at Bireggstrasse 36 in Luzern, Switzerland, occupying the former Biregg indoor swimming pool. Designed by Lis and Adolf Ammann, the pool was built between 1962 and 1969 and opened to the public on 7 May 1969. It closed on 30 June 2012, and the city then invited proposals for temporary use. Verein Netzwerk Neubad’s proposal was chosen that autumn; after months of volunteer work, the venue opened in September 2013.
The former 25-metre pool is retained as an event space with a large stage for up to 350 people. The basement club holds about 150 and has operated as a concert and club-night space since 2018. Its sound system uses d&b Q7 speakers, B4 subwoofers, E8 infill and delay speakers, and D12 amplifiers. Elsewhere in the building are a bistro and bar, coworking space, studios and event rooms; the bistro and bar can accommodate 200 guests.
Music in the basement ranges from jazz to later-night techno, with events run by Neubad Klub. Artists who have played there include Forward Sisters, Genoe, TMSN and Monaco. Renovation work in 2024 added a separate club entrance, a fumoir and a new lighting concept. In January 2025, Neubad held its first Ü16 party; before then, the club had admitted guests aged 21 and over.
