Nice N Sleazy

Nice N Sleazy opened in 1991 at 421 Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow, with a ground-floor bar and a separate performance room downstairs. The ground-level area has space for 130 people, while the lower room holds 200; the venue’s overall capacity is about 400. At its launch, it set out to give bands with few other Glasgow stages a place to perform. Its bookings have included musicians from the West of Scotland and touring bands.

The basement also hosts recurring club nights, among them the monthly Indie Sleazy. Music there has ranged across indie and post-punk, new wave and krautrock, as well as house, disco and nu-disco. Some nights have used an analogue sound system with Technics turntables. Promoters have included D/ranged Collective, RAVEGLA and Contrabass Events, and Bristol Luke, Medudesa and Corran are among the artists to play the venue.
