Nieuwe Nor

Nieuwe Nor is a concert and club venue on Pancratiusstraat in Heerlen, Netherlands. Its predecessor, De Nor, began in 1969 in a former police station on Geerstraat, founded by students first as a society and later operating as a cultural café. The name refers to a jail, in keeping with that first building. After two moves, De Nor reached Pancratiusstraat in 1998. Nieuwe Nor opened in December 2006 in a former hardware shop and construction workshop.

The venue presents concerts and dance nights, with a programme spanning pop, rock, hip-hop and electronic music, as well as cultural events and talent-development projects. TechNORm began in 2006 and ran techno nights from 2007 to 2012; Club New is a house night founded and led by resident Brent New. Nieuwe Nor has also promoted events there, and Nightmare is among the artists to have played.

The venue holds around 350 people. Its large hall has a D&B Audiotechnik system, with speakers serving the floor and two balconies and subwoofers below the stage. The Gulpener Grote Zaal, a new entrance and further facilities were added in 2022.
