Oslo Hackney occupies a former Hackney Central railway station building at 1a Amhurst Road, beside the station in Hackney, London. Oslo Hackney opened in January 2014, when the former station building was 140 years old. Its two floors separate club events downstairs from live music upstairs, and the overall capacity is about 300. The Green Room is a separate space with a bar and sound system, and holds 50 people. Oslo is fitted with an L-Acoustics sound system.
The programme combines live music and club events. Valhalla has featured hip-hop and R&B, while Locomotive Disco has focused on house, disco and funk. Oslo Social is a Thursday series with guest DJs and promoters; resident DJs play varied genres in late-night sessions. Event promoters have included SYN LDN, Blender Collective and Murmuration Records. Artists who have performed there include AC13, Anny (UK), ATMOS and DJ Brockie. DHP Family operates the venue.
