Patterns

Patterns opened in Brighton in 2015 at the former Audio site, occupying a building that had been an Art Deco hotel and previously housed Ted Potters Music Bar and Escape Club. Its ground level combines original Art Deco features with daylight, a custom-built DJ booth and an Ohm PA system; the south-facing terrace has wooden decking and views of the sea.

In the basement, an L-Acoustics system serves DJs and live performers in a room intended for dancing. The venue holds 400 guests and hosts jazz, indie and pop performances alongside club nights spanning drum and bass, UK garage, house and techno. Foundations, established in 2017, leads the Friday programme, while Undivide, Freerange Events and SuperCharged Events have also promoted nights there. Patterns runs the Patterns With and Patterns Invites series as well as a quarterly residency. Performers have included Bicep, Four Tet, Sam Fender and Ezra Collective.
