Pier 1929 is a multi-purpose event space on the second floor of Wan Chai Ferry Pier, in Wan Chai, Hong Kong. It opened in 2020 as a private members’ club, designed by LALA CURIO with interiors drawing on Chinoiserie. Its name refers to the year the Wan Chai Star Ferry Terminal was first built. Laura Cheung, founder of home-decor brand LALA CURIO, developed the club concept.
The venue has a 300-square-metre main hall, plus a foyer, bridal room, Treillage Room, Gallery Room and VIP room. The Pagoda Bar has a dance floor and a floating DJ booth. Capacity is about 500; the main hall’s listed layouts accommodate 144 for round-table banquets, 192 for long-table banquets or 84 for ceremonies. Stage audio-visual and lighting systems are provided, though no sound-system brand is specified.
Music events have ranged across house, techno, garage and breakbeat, with nights run by UMAMI.EVENTS, S2 and Collective Minds. Artists who have played there include Bianca Oblivion, Club Angel, Dixon and LB aka LABAT. In August 2025, UMAMI and Mixmag Asia staged a two-day Mixmag Lab event at the venue.
