Pratersauna

Pratersauna is at Waldsteingartenstrasse 135 in Vienna’s Prater, in a building constructed as a sauna in 1965. After the sauna closed in 2008, Hennes Weiss and Stefan Hiess converted it into a club, which opened in July 2009 with house, electro and techno among its styles. The weekly Praterei night brought together local residents, including Kido Soon, and visiting artists such as Motor City Drum Ensemble and Ogris Debris.

Following a temporary closure in January 2016, the club reopened in April under the Dots Group after renovations that expanded its garden. From August 2023, it hosted Perspective, a drum-and-bass series focused particularly on neurofunk, with artists including Bou, Harriet Jaxxon and Alcemist. Sebastian Müller-Klasz took over from Martin Ho in 2025, and the venue reopened after renovations on March 7. It closed in December 2025 when its operator left the premises. In July 2026, the site reopened under the Edison brand as an outdoor Urban Pool Club, with two terraces, a garden and a pool.
