PST Club is a three-floor music venue at 71 Lombard Street in Digbeth, Birmingham. Its name means “People Stand Together”, and its roots lie in Pecker’s reggae sound-system work around Birmingham in the early 1980s. In the late 1980s, he opened a smaller venue, The Unit, near Belgrave Road and Stratford Road. Pecker, Tony and Specta began searching for premises for PST in 2006, finding a former factory; the club opened at Lombard Street on 30 October 2010.
The building has a basement dance area and bar, a ground-floor main room and stage, and a first-floor Roots Yard garden, green room and kitchen. Sound systems serve the basement and main room, while the venue’s capacity is about 350. Its licensing name is PST Community Centre and Private Members Club.
Music at PST has ranged across reggae, dub and drum and bass, with local and international DJs and musicians. RCE, Big Skank Audio and Drippyboiii Recordings have run events there. Artists who have played the club include Aries, Kelvin 373, Ashley Knights and Iwizz.
