Public Works is a music, arts and events venue at 161 Erie Street in San Francisco’s Mission District. It opened in 2010, with a programme spanning club nights, live performances, comedy, readings and art exhibitions. Noise Pop Festival has used the venue for its annual Culture Club events.
The two-floor site has three rooms, including an upstairs loft, with combined capacity for up to 1,000. Its facilities include several bars, hardwood floors and a Funktion-One sound system. Public Works has hosted dance music across the Bay Area, with DJs and live acts including Kanine, Mandidextrous, LTJ Bukem and Jeff Mills. Todd Terje has played live there, and Simian Mobile Disco has performed a DJ set. Maceo Plex and Robag Wruhme have also performed at the venue.
