Ramsgate Music Hall

Ramsgate Music Hall occupies 13 Turner Street in Ramsgate, Kent. The venue began operating in October 2013 on the site of Jesters, formerly used as a pub and lap-dancing club. After the building had stood derelict, Jules Bigg, Tim Baines and Robin Hyman bought it at auction and reconstructed the interior. Allo Darlin’ performed on the venue’s opening night. Its main room accommodates 130 people and has a D&B PA, while the upstairs bar can host smaller gatherings of around 60 and has a separate sound system.

In 2018, André Dack and sound engineer Al Harle took over the business through a lease. The venue’s audio equipment includes an analogue setup built around a Midas XL3 mixing desk. Ramsgate Music Hall received NME’s Britain’s Best Small Venue award in 2015, and NME readers voted it Britain’s Best Small Venue the following year.

Drum and bass and jungle are among the styles featured at the venue. Event promoters there have included Oldskool roots, Dom Johnson and Lucidity. Nicky Blackmarket, DJ Millz and Telomic have played there. Jarvis Cocker and Neneh Cherry are among the other performers. In April 2025, André Dack announced his departure from Ramsgate Music Hall.
