Rebellion

Rebellion is a Manchester venue for alternative live music and club nights, at 2B Whitworth Street West beneath Deansgate station. Founded in 2013, it occupies a brick building shaped like a boot and has a capacity of about 600. Its three rooms are the Main Room, Lounge and Second Room; a Green Room has shower and WC facilities.

The programme spans rock, metal, punk and drum and bass, with Rebellion regularly hosting Manchester’s metal, rock and punk scenes, including headline performances by international acts. Dankashire Sounds and Jungle Cakes have promoted events there; performers have included S.P.Y and Jessy P. Rebellion hosts Manchester Punk Festival and has presented Battle of the Bands and afterparties. In February 2025, the venue upgraded its PA to an Electro-Voice point-source system powered by Dynacord amplifiers.
