Refinery Gallery

Refinery Gallery is an event venue at Vlčie hrdlo 1, in Bratislava’s Vlčie hrdlo industrial area. Slovnaft initiated the project in 2011 with ADOM.M STUDIO, and the converted venue was completed that year before coming under its management team in 2012. Architect Martin Paško led the Design Factory team responsible for the design.

The building brings together two former industrial assembly halls, retaining elements such as the cargo crane and the original window-opening mechanisms. The conversion added steel structures, stairs, footbridges and a built-in VIP floor. Hall 2 has a dance floor and opens onto a covered outdoor terrace; backstage areas give artists direct access to the stage. The premises also include a large cloakroom and room for film crews or sound systems. Capacity is about 1,000.

The Refinery Gallery programme has included concerts, exhibitions, performances, workshops, conferences and fashion shows. Its first concert event was the Electronic Beats Festival in 2012, with Woodkid, Friendly Fires and UNKLE Sounds among the performers. Drum-and-bass bookings have included Let It Roll Winter Slovakia in 2013 and Bassizm Night in 2026, while Darkshire has also run events at the venue. Artists to have played there include Meph, Pythius, Shmidoo and Hybrid Minds.
