Riff Raffs

Riff Raffs is an independent bar and music venue at 28 George Street in central Croydon, London. It opened in September 2022 in a former stationery shop, with owner Claire Hoggs crowdfunding part of the building work and stock through the Pay It Forward London scheme. The business combines a bar, coffee shop, event space and vintage shop, with Three Piece Sweet’s vintage and vinyl store in the basement.

The long, narrow venue has a capacity of 125. At gigs, bands perform in the middle of the room, surrounded by the audience; as of January 2026, its PA and live-music equipment were not fully functional. Events span jungle, R&B and metal, alongside house, with Jungle in the Cronx, Metal Mania and Riffstory among the named nights. DJs play on Fridays and Saturdays, while monthly open decks and open mics provide slots for producers and vocalists. The venue also hosts radio recordings, album launches and exhibitions, as well as Music Bingo, Bring Your Own Album and the Pen2padz writing circle.

DubSpecies has run events there, and artists who have played include DFUSE, Dylan The Idylist, N-Type and Abby Daze.
