Room 22

Room 22 was a basement nightclub at 22 Bayswater Rd in Potts Point, Sydney, on the former Kings Cross site of Candys Apartment. The earlier venue hosted live music during the 2000s. After Room 22’s time at the location, XL Sydney opened there in September 2025. The club had space for about 250 people, with a main dance-floor area and a VIP room on a mezzanine level.

The venue had two CDJs, one mixer, plus sound and lighting equipment. Room 22 hosted events across several genres, including progressive house and techno, and Ricardo’s Club held events there with local live electronic performers. Promoters who ran events included dirty hertz, Sonic Fiction and Eddy Zamprogno. En:vy and ILÜZI performed there, as did Rohaan and ENiGMA Dubz. Foals and Steve Aoki also played at Room 22.
