Salzhaus is a concert venue in a former warehouse at Untere Vogelsangstrasse 6, in Winterthur, Zurich, Switzerland. The building, erected between 1861 and 1863, served as a salt, grain and goods store beside the old freight station; it is protected as a municipal heritage building. Seven friends founded the venue after seeing an advertisement for the space, and it opened in October 1996.
Concerts and parties span rock, indie, alternative, hip-hop, electronic music and pop, alongside performing arts. Early events included Acid Jazz and funk parties. Salzhaus is run by the non-profit Salzhaus GmbH and can hold up to 600 people at concerts. It runs a Coda Audio system with CUE TWO monitor wedges and G15-SUB subwoofers. Crisci and Juandroid hold resident DJ roles, while event promoters have included Divercity Bass, Hospitality UK and Jamie Small.
Artists to have played Salzhaus include Degs, DJ Hazard, P Money and Escapism. Thirtylicious, a monthly party, passed its 200th edition by January 2026. Since 2004, Salzhaus has coordinated with Gaswerk, Kraftfeld and Albani through an association set up to distribute city subsidies.
