BEAT.STAY.LOVE x PERCEPTION
Schlosskeller · Darmstadt, Germany
23:00 – 05:00
Schlosskeller is a club and event venue in the vaulted cellar of Darmstadt Castle, at Marktpl. 15 in Darmstadt. It has operated there since 1966 and is run as a student business by the AStA of TU Darmstadt, with students involved in organising and managing events.
Its programme combines club nights and concerts with readings, talks, film screenings and cabaret. Formats include independent-disco, pop and rock parties, student association events and LGBTQ+ nights; beat.stay.love. is among the promoters to have run events there. A student gay and lesbian disco began at the venue in the mid-1980s, first as a Sunday party. The queer night Schrill + Laut has been held there since 2011, organised by vielbunt and the Schlosskeller team. Artists who have played include Lucid Breaks, Lilak Mind, Minzkönig and GEST (UK).
Its small-arts series is called Kulturhäppchen, and Dom Waits has also played at the venue.
