Smelteverket

Smelteverket is a family-owned nightlife and cultural venue at Vulkan 5 in Oslo, in the basement of Mathallen beside the Akerselva river. It reopened with a two-day programme of local DJs. Twenty windows face the river, and entrances lead in from both the bridge and Mathallen.

The basement has a stage, dance floor and Martin Audio sound system, with capacity for about 250 people. Its programme spans electronic music club nights, live concerts, art events, quizzes and other cultural events. Club nights bring international artists together with local performers and emerging acts; promoters who have run events there include Mike Pereez and WeLive AS. Ivaylo and Circadian are among the artists who have played at the venue. Alongside its club programme, Smelteverket runs weekly activities and special events. The space can be booked in part or in full for meetings and events.
