Social Room

Social Room is a music venue at 74–78 Stanley Street in Central, Hong Kong, on the third floor of the Won Hing Building above Stanley Street Market. Hem Gurung and Hong Kong DJ Ocean Lam opened it in March 2015 as a larger successor to Bassment, their earlier venue, which closed that month after five years.

The loft-style space covers 2,100 square feet and holds about 100 people, with a bar and seating beside a dance floor, DJ booth and raised stage, and events have used a Funktion-One sound system. Its programme spans techno, house, drum and bass and trance, alongside poetry slams, photography exhibitions and comedy. Promoters such as Feed the Dragon, Magnetic Soul and KOLAK have run nights there, with artists including Immuno, JFÜNG and Mengzy.
