TAM TAM Treppenbar

TAM TAM Treppenbar is a bar at Hildegardstraße 1 in Munich, above the blue house and outside the Werkraum of the Münchner Kammerspiele. Established by Matthias Stadler and the TAM TAM collective, it began its 2024/25 season at the theatre’s Werkraum. The collective has operated since 2011, staging projects at changing locations in Munich and elsewhere. Before the Treppenbar, it ran TAM TAM Tanzlokal beneath Kammer 2 at the Kammerspiele in 2016/17, during Matthias Lilienthal’s tenure as artistic director.

The bar occupies the building’s third floor. Its arrangement uses the stairwell for the bar, with seats on steps and scaffolding, alongside an elevator and a bridge. DJ equipment includes two Technics 1210 turntables, Pioneer Nexus 2000 and 900 players, a Stanton SMX 501 mixer and Maui 28 G2 PA speakers. The programme covers concerts, DJ nights, live music and performances; Break it Down - Munich has run events there. Artists who have played include Tyra and acurruncunquito.
