TESTBED

TESTBED is a warehouse events venue on Butterley Street in Leeds. Founded by Laura Wellington and James Abbott-Donnelly, it opened in 2021; the pair also own The Wunderkind Group, which operates nearby Sheaf St. The venue began as a 10,000-square-foot space for electronic music, arts, community events and conferences, and is independently owned.

A 2026 renovation increased the site to 23,000 square feet, adding a mezzanine, lobby and balcony, plus a custom 360-degree stage and DJ booth. The venue has a capacity of 2,500, while UnderTheMezz, beneath the mezzanine, holds 800. Its sound system is a custom L-Acoustics L2. TESTBED hosts club nights alongside live music, exhibitions and talks; Arrival and Louder are among the promoters to have run events there. Artists who have played include Hybrid Minds, Chris Stussy, Prospa, K Motionz and Duskee. Its reconfigurable rooms serve concerts, conferences, markets, festivals and private functions as well as club nights and exhibitions.
