The Auld Shebeen

The Auld Shebeen, an Irish pub and restaurant, occupies 3971 Chain Bridge Road in Fairfax, Virginia. Mick Boyle and Dominic Keane established the venue in 2004, after the building had housed Oliver’s and the Black-Eyed Pea. Its two floors comprise an upper dining area and a lower room called the Cellar, which can accommodate up to 200 guests. The Cellar hosts live bands and DJs, including local electronic dance music nights, while the venue also presents traditional Irish music on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Saturday afternoons feature Irish traditional sessions with local musicians, and karaoke takes place on Tuesdays. The Cellar has hosted Transit, a weekly underground dance party, and Give Productions has run events at the venue. Its music also includes traditional rock and modern music. Artists who have played at The Auld Shebeen include Deekline, DJ Improvize, DJ Beast and Petty Penguin.
