The Button Factory is a multi-purpose venue at 2 Abbey Street in Auckland’s CBD. It opened in 2024 and marked its second birthday in June 2026. The space has two floors, with a capacity of about 250, kitchen and bar facilities, and a lounge. Its sound system is an OPUS PA. Alongside events, the building accommodates artist studios, co-working, exhibitions and a cafe.
Its programme spans live electronic music, hardware performances and improvised electro-acoustic sets, as well as comedy, visual art and performance. Workshops and talks are also part of its events. It has hosted electronic music events built around live synthesizers, drum machines and outboard equipment. Artists who have played there include Paige Julia, Brown Sugar and Dylan C.
