The Cause

The Cause began with founders Stuart Glen and Eugene Wild securing a former car-repair garage on Ashley Road in Tottenham. They opened the 400-capacity club in April 2018, and within five weeks the space had grown to include five sound systems and several dance areas. Friends from London’s DIY party scene constructed its custom Core sound system. The original venue later closed as development took place nearby, and its tenure included raising more than £150,000 for charities.

After an 18-month soft launch, the club’s Dock Road premises in Silvertown fully opened in January 2024. The address is 60 Dock Road, London, and the venue has five indoor rooms, ranging in capacity from 60 to 1,000, alongside a large outdoor area. Its sound equipment combines systems from Martin Audio and Noise Control Audio, while Sensory Studio provided sound and lighting systems. The Cause confirmed the site as its long-term home in 2024.

At the Tottenham venue, The Cause hosted the monthly queer party Adonis and events by Keep Hush. Artists who played there include Fabio, Mantra, SP:MC and DJ Flight. Event promoters have included The Cause, Columbo Music, Signal DNB and Cortex Ldn.
