The Eagle Inn is a pub at 19 Collier St in Salford, Manchester, set within a Victorian house with outdoor seating. Its history is traced to 1848, and the present building is associated with 1902. Licensee John Stone gave it the nickname “The Lamp Oil”; he also ran a nearby coal yard that sold paraffin. The pub and its attached house gained Grade II protection on 20 March 2006.
After the lease transferred in 2012, the adjoining terraced house was converted into a music venue, which Esther Maylor, Rupert Hill and Jonny Booth opened in 2013. The pub hosts regular live music, while the venue accommodates gigs, spoken-word sessions, comedy, theatre and film screenings. Its music space has an 80-person capacity, and the pub’s overall capacity is about 150. The club room has a D&B Audiotechnik sound system. Events have been run there by Leia.uk and Interstellar Audio, while performers have included Kyber, Vispera and MC Gusto.
