The Fiddlers Elbow is a 150-capacity music venue at 1 Malden Road on the Camden–Kentish Town border, in a Grade II-listed pub building from the mid-19th century. It once traded as the Old Mother Shipton, held a theatre licence in Victorian times, became a music venue in the 1970s and took its current name in the 1990s.
Dan Maiden, who had promoted gigs there for decades, took on the lease with Nancy Wild in 2010, and the pair kept it running through the 2020 lockdowns. The room has wooden tables and Chesterfield sofas, and its PA runs on a Midas M32 desk with Yamaha amps and tops and Soundtech bass bins.
Live music plays every night, from pop, rock, punk and jazz to metal and rap, along with Irish sessions, ska and reggae nights and rap battles. Crawdaddy has run a monthly vinyl night there since 2010, and The Pogues, Madness, Blur and The Specials all played it early on. Skindeep, Relentlesssdj and Vantalux have promoted events there. The pub, owned by Stonegate, was put up for sale in 2026.
