The Loft

The Loft is a club at Lerchenfelder Gürtel 37 in Vienna’s 16th district. It opened in December 2009, following two years of planning, permits and renovation work. Before becoming a venue, the building housed a wood-floor factory, a dance school and an Afghan supermarket.

The rooms are spread across several levels: a café on the ground floor, a bar upstairs, a basement dance floor fitted with a KV2 sound system, and a separate living-room space. The Wohnzimmer can be hired for private parties, with capacity for 40 to 100 people. Its programme spans electronic music, hip-hop, funk, rock and alternative, while Saturday club nights draw on music from the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s across two floors. Cybercutz, DNB Unchained and schoenetoene have run events there.

Artists to have played at The Loft include Sustance, Keeno, Kimyan and Buzz. Since 2021, its Loftival programme has provided a platform for Vienna’s independent music scene.
