The Lower Third

The Lower Third is a live music venue on Denmark Street in Soho, central London, a short walk from Tottenham Court Road station. It occupies the former 12 Bar Club building and relaunched under its current name in 2022 as part of the Outernet London development. The restoration preserved a 16th-century forge, a listed smithy at the rear of the building, and the name is a nod to David Bowie, whose music inspired the operator, Karrie Goldberg.

The venue spans three levels: The Cocktail Bar, The Forge and The Clubroom. The clubroom holds 200, the bar 40 and the forge 40 to 50, for an overall capacity of about 230. The clubroom has a stage, lighting rig, streaming capability and its own sound system, while The Forge hosts acoustic sets and small performances. The programme covers live and electronic music, with drum and bass nights run by Bass Camp LDN, Crucast and Undivide, and BCee, AKTIVE, Larnie Moles and Mollie Collins are among the artists who have played there.
