The Mash House occupies a former church at 37 Guthrie Street in Edinburgh’s Cowgate, close to the Royal Mile and Grassmarket. The venue has three floors and has previously used the names The Left Bank, Octopus Diamond, the Green Room and GRV. Brickwork, scaffold fittings, natural wood and modern lighting feature inside.
Club nights and live performances take place across a main room and two upper rooms. The main room accommodates 350 people for club events or 230 for live shows, while each upper room holds 75; capacity across the venue is about 500. Its sound system includes a KV2 Audio PA. Promoters active there include Alien Disko.
