In Amsterdam’s Houthavens, THE OTHER SIDE occupies a former bicycle workshop at Rigakade 10. Founders Doeshka Vrede and Jasper Löwik began hosting events there in 2020–21, before its official opening on 30 September 2023. A full club licence and a 24-hour permit followed in November 2023. The founders also manage an artist agency and music label; they developed the venue as a place for artistic development and self-expression.
Its main room accommodates 900 people, with a 14.1.5 L-Acoustics system using L-ISA spatial audio. Amsterdam group End of Time held an artist residency at the club, and experiments with spatial audio helped shape the sound-system installation. The programme spans house, techno, deep house and electronica, featuring artists from Amsterdam and abroad. Drum ‘n Babes has promoted events there; performers have included Aries, Bryan Gee, DJ Brockie and Micky Finn.
