The Rechabite is a multi-level venue at 224 William Street in Northbridge, Perth. Architect Edwin Summerhayes designed its hall, built in 1920 for the Independent Order of Rechabites. After the organisation left, the building became a Commonwealth Bank branch and later housed artist studios, shops, a gallery, an independent theatre and a 1990s squat associated with Beaverloop. It was used for theatre and live music after the Second World War, suffered fire damage in 1980 and later fell into disrepair.
Marcus Canning led the revival, with financial backing from Adrian Fini and Jim Litis. The former hall, dormant for about a decade, reopened as The Rechabite in 2019 after restoration and redevelopment. The four-level complex contains the main Rechabite Hall, Goodwill Club in the basement, a restaurant and Hello Rooftop. The Hall has a two-tier wraparound balcony and holds 750 standing or 300 seated; Goodwill accommodates 247 standing or 100 seated. Hello Rooftop has a retractable roof and room for 115 people.
The spaces host live performances, DJ sets and club nights. Goodwill is used for club nights and DJ sets, with a music policy spanning house and disco; the Hall has touring-grade production, while the basement has sound and AV equipment. Sound Selection WA has run events at the venue. Artists who have played there include Flava D, Mampi Swift, Bailey (UK) and Ray Keith.
