The Space

The Space is a nightclub-style venue at 36 Upper Abbeygate Street in central Galway, Ireland, operated by Electric Galway. The venue has two bars, a dance floor, a private smoking area and bathrooms, with capacity for about 400. Its sound system is by Funktion-One. Tabú held queer club nights there, with a FINTA-centred focus, and was later known as Cultúr/Riot. Ar Ais Arís has run events at the venue, where Chord Memory, Sully and Mantra have played. In 2025, a Galway sound system built by Seisún Sounds launched at The Space.
