The Sultan Room is a live-music venue and nightclub at 234 Starr Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn, New York City, with room for about 250 people. It opened in June 2019 as part of a project involving Turk’s Inn and Döner Kebab. Built behind Turk’s Inn, the venue sits alongside a Brooklyn restaurant inspired by a Wisconsin supper club of the same name. Co-owners Varun Kataria and Tyler Erickson opened the room.
Its programme combines concerts and DJ sets, with music spanning global sounds, rock, jazz, disco and experimental styles. The space was designed for club nights, multimedia use and special events as well as live music. It has a stage for intimate shows, a sunken dance floor and technicoloured lighting, alongside a d&b point-source sound system. Events there have been run by Driven AM and Samantha DaSilva. Artists who have played include Dieselboy, Dave Shichman, Agent 137 and DADA COZMIC.
