Totara Street is an entertainment venue at 11 Totara Street in Mount Maunganui, North Island, New Zealand. It began operating in 2015 as an outgrowth of the Mauao Performing Arts Centre, established in 2010. Students at the centre can use the venue’s stage and equipment, also used by touring performers from New Zealand and abroad. The split-level space holds around 400 standing guests or 140 seated, and can be arranged for smaller seated shows of 30 to 50 people.
Live bands and DJ events, including drum-and-bass performances, take place in a room with Martin Audio W3 tops, WSX subwoofers and a Soundcraft Si Impact console. Its facilities include an in-house lighting rig, two licensed bars, a commercial kitchen, a mezzanine and clear views of the raised stage. Its stages have featured Delta Heavy, Flowidus, L.A.B. and Xavier Rudd. The venue has also hosted the 24-band Loserpalooza festival.
