Underground SF is at 424 Haight St in San Francisco’s Lower Haight, between Fillmore and Webster Streets. The venue previously operated as The Top and reopened on July 27, 2022, following remodeling that added a coffee bar for electronic music. Steve Johnson owns the club, which holds about 100 people and has a compact dance floor associated with turntable culture.
Its programming spans disco, pop, house, techno, electro and jungle. Event promoters there have included Shelter SF, program audio, yerbabuenasf and Generaiderz. Shelter is a long-running San Francisco drum-and-bass night that has presented Ed Rush & Optical and Loxy. Other performers at Underground SF include mf mama, Keishaboy and SOBA.
