Upstairs at the 700

Upstairs at the 700 occupies the upper floor at 700 N 2nd St in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. The 700 began operating in 1997 in the Northern Liberties neighborhood. Its upstairs lounge developed as a distinct part of the venue, apart from the downstairs bar and neighborhood gathering space. A change of ownership took place in 2019, following 22 years under the former owners.

The upstairs room has capacity for about 100 and hosts dance parties featuring EDM, hip-hop, disco and Latin music, along with comedy and karaoke. Feral Sound and Jungle Room have promoted events there; performers have included Armen, Grayfox and Joey Breakdown. Sara Sherr runs a weekly Monday karaoke night called “Sing Your Life.” Comedy programming includes weekly open mics and monthly showcases.
