UTOPIA / DYSTOPIA

UTOPIA / DYSTOPIA opened on 10 December 2025 at 4-6 Maruyamachō, in Shibuya, Tokyo. LD&K operates the venue; at its opening it was the company’s 20th venue in Shibuya and 40th in Japan. Both spaces are below ground: UTOPIA is a bar on B1, and DYSTOPIA is the club on B2.

UTOPIA has red décor and artwork, a counter with a pole-dancing pole, and a stage for burlesque performances. Its audio setup includes three TANNOY OCV 8 pendant speakers and a VSX 10BP subwoofer, with sound designed for conversation and even distribution. DYSTOPIA is a compact, narrow room for listening and dancing, equipped with two L-Acoustics A10i Wide speakers on each side, a KS21i subwoofer beneath the DJ booth and X8 monitors for DJs. The system was developed with Bestec Audio, with Satoru Kozukue directing the sound design for controlled sound and strong bass. Kagurun, Shimon, Nori and SHiN played at the opening.
