ZUBAR · Tokyo, Japan
19:00 – 23:00

ZUBAR is a Tokyo club that also serves Taiwanese food, including minced-pork rice and boiled gyoza. It began in 2009 as an underground event, first operating in a small building between Ebisu and Shibuya. Owner Kenji Kimura moved the club south of Shibuya Station in 2018. In 2025, with rising rent among the reasons, ZUBAR left Shibuya for the ground floor of the ZU Building at 2-54-4 Kitamagome in Ota-ku.
Its programme ranges across hip-hop, techno, house, reggae and other styles, with resident DJs and guest events. Regular nights include Wednesday’s Kaidan Club and the AOP party; promoters who have run events there include Kenta Tominaga and vinylDJ Eiji Takehana. Artists who have played include Adrian Sherwood, DJ Spinna, TKO and Naojohnny. The DJ setup includes a Pioneer DJM-750MK2 mixer, Pioneer CDJ-2000 players and Technics SL-1200 turntables, alongside a Yamaha MG12XU live mixer.
