Cybass is the artist name of Brazilian producer and DJ Glauber Barretto. He began producing in 1999, initially focusing on drum and bass before exploring other styles. Barretto became interested in electronic music around 1997–98 and found his musical home in drum and bass after hearing Roni Size Reprazent’s album New Forms. In 2012, he chose São Paulo as his home city. His releases have appeared through Beatwise Recordings and Lost Tribe Records, and he and CESRV have helped shape Beatwise Recordings since 2012.
In 2014, Lost Tribe Recordings released Cybass’s EP Altered Carbon, which included contributions from CESRV, MJP and Sants. Barretto described the EP as a more mature expression of his sound, made while he was searching for a style of his own. He said that he and Sants were stubborn but receptive to each other’s ideas; although they had lived together for several months, they had not made music together before the EP. His releases also include the track “Hop It!” on Beatwise Trax.
His work with CESRV includes the track “Feel” and the single “Come With Me,” produced between 2017 and 2019. In July 2025, he released the album 103. Earlier, Cybass released the 2008 single “Floating Dreams / Déjà Vu” on Digital Blus and the 2015 single “Time Left” on Beatwise Recordings. His 2018 album Akane (Original Soundtrack) was followed by the 2023 single “Break My” on Nice & Deadly. In 2024, he released the album Jungle Carioca on SPEEDTEST RAVE with SPEEDTEST.
