Glastonbury is where Alex Eveson grew up; under the name Eveson, he works as a drum-and-bass producer, DJ and visual artist. He got into rave music in the early 1990s and began DJing in 1999. Before becoming known for his music, he created sleeve artwork for drum-and-bass labels including Metalheadz, Exit Records and Quarantine. That visual work runs alongside a production career with releases on Good Looking, Creative Source, 31 Records and Shogun Ltd. His 2008 single “Tricks / Be With You” came out on SGN:LTD.
Eveson’s early releases include the 2010 So Fine EP. In 2012, he put out the album The Last Summer of Love on V Recordings, describing it as an experimental project that moved across genres. He has also released music as Dead Man’s Chest, using the alias for productions inspired by early-1990s rave tapes. In 2011, he released the single “Wicked Dub” on Liquid V.
In 2014, Eveson and Halogenix released the track Grey Dawn on Ingredients Records. Their other collaboration, Baby, was first played on NTS on 6 August that year. Eveson has said that his track Get Your Swerve On was a tribute to Fabio’s Swerve club night. Eveson founded Channel 82, an imprint built around bringing art and music together in physical form. Also in 2014, he released “Archangel / Tempest” on Mars Recordings. His 2016 single “You Shine / Holding On” appeared on Prestige Music Group.
