IHR brings together Italian producers Inward, Hanzo and Randie, with the name taken from the first letters of their names. The trio began working more permanently as a unit in 2016, after each had entered Italy’s drum-and-bass scene as a separate artist around 2010–11. Their influences include breakcore, metal, punk and techno, and their sound has been described as dark and edgy.
Their 2016 EP Squaremouth preceded the 2017 album Consistency of Error, which received a nomination for Best Album of the Year at the DNBArena Music Awards. IHR has released music through Red Light and Cause4Concern Recordings, with further releases and remixes connected to Blackout, Eatbrain, Critical and Methlab. In 2019, the single Caliban / Giant Growth came out on Let It Roll.
In 2020, IHR collaborated with Gydra on the album Snake Monastery for Eatbrain, and released the single Inertia / Neon Rising with Exept on Surveillance Music. The 2022 track Kiku appeared on C4C Recordings. Later releases include the 2023 EP Paradigma, as well as the singles Wipe with Gydra and Between Worlds with TR Tactics.
