Kloke is the stage name of Melbourne-based Australian producer Andy Donnelly, who began releasing music in the late 2000s with the 2008 dubstep EP Suspended Animation on Entrada Recordings. Before shifting his focus to jungle around 2018, he explored house, garage and experimental techno. His music has also spanned dubstep, abstract house and atmospheric jungle. Donnelly attended the Red Bull Music Academy in New York in 2013 and, in 2016, took part in a conversation about music and creative process with fellow alumnus Kid Smpl. He has said that listening to early- and mid-1990s drum and bass and jungle widened his musical horizons.
Kloke has described beginning productions with a sample or melody and preferring simple manipulation to technical sound design. Donnelly has also released experimental ambient and electro music as Colours of Infinity, and Travancore is his side-project band, exploring psychedelic sci-fi sounds. His releases include the P.H.O.N.E. 12-inch on Styles Upon Styles, with a Hieroglyphic Being remix on the reverse, and the EP Sea Levels, also on Styles Upon Styles. Other labels that have released his music include Mindgames, Unknown To The Unknown, Hyperdub and Future Retro London.
Jungle producer Tim Reaper has frequently collaborated with Kloke; their work includes the single Tunnelvision and the 2025 EP MINDGAME 10 on Mindgames. Kloke released the EP Cosmik Connection, Vol. 2 in 2022. In 2024, the album On Rhythm came out on Future Retro London, and The Cosmik Connection: Lost Tape was released on Unknown To The Unknown. That year, Kloke and Tim Reaper released the collaborative album In Full Effect on Hyperdub; it was the label’s first jungle album. Kloke also released the single FR042 with LQ and the single waveforms 09-10 on Waveforms in 2024. His 2025 releases included the album Lucidity.
