Kove is the stage name of James Rockhill, an electronic music producer and DJ from Sussex, England. He began producing music in 2006 and moved to London in 2009, where he worked with an electro-pop band before focusing on faster dance music. His early releases in 2012 were “Stellar” and “Breach” on Viper Recordings, followed later that year by “Iodine” and “Open Ground” on Program Recordings. Chase & Status included his track “Searching” in a Mixmag mix CD, after which Kove signed to their label MTA.
In 2013, Kove released the Measures EP on MTA Records and remixed Chase & Status’ “Lost & Not Found.” The following year, he released the Murmurations EP and the single “Way We Are,” featuring Melissa Steel. The single reached number 30 on the UK Singles Chart. The EP also included “Feel Love Again,” a collaboration with Dimension.
Kove’s music spans drum and bass and house. He has also remixed tracks by Bastille and John Newman, including “Rhythm of the Night” and “Love Me Again,” and remixed Deap Vally’s “The End of the World.” He played support slots for Sub Focus and Annie Mac.
Later releases appeared on KVRT Records and Drum&BassArena, which released his In From The Cold EP. In 2023, he released “So Much Love” on UKF and “Everytime (Kove Remix)” with Calixte on Liquicity Records. That year, “True Love (Make Me Believe) [Kove Remix]” with WILDES came out on Late Night People, and “Overcome (Remixes)” with Nothing But Thieves was released on RCA Records Label. In 2024, “Placebo (Fade Black Remix),” with Fade Black and Jack Mirror, came out on Viper Recordings.
