Krome & Time are producers Terry Holt and Bernard Simon. Before working under that name, they had been involved in DJing and radio, including playing on Fantasy FM, a pirate station based in Stratford, East London, next door to Dan Donnelly’s parents’ grocery shop. The duo emerged in a period when breakbeat, jungle and hardcore techno were part of their musical approach, a style described as “hardcore breakbeat.” They became active in the early 1990s after earlier DJ and radio activity under the names DJ Krome & Mr Time.
Their jungle releases included The Licence and Ganja Man, associated with their Tearin’ Vinyl label, which also put out music by DJ Vern, DJ Ash and Missing. Other tracks they released included “Bruck Out” and “London Talk.” The duo released the album Anthology, issued by Suburban Base Records in 2023. Suburban Base Records interviewed them about their music careers and the creation of their album The Anthology.
